I can see the stationary blip on the WWLLN plot over=20 Iceland, I guess that's your volcano. I have the VLF loop aimed north= =20 and will be leaving it that way for awhile. I can see TFK very weakly=20 all day long now... For some reason that bearing produces the most=20 interesting natural radio phenomenon and is quieter than all the rest. The levels on my VLF grabber have changed significantly as I changed the= =20 opamp in the preamp from an NE5534 to at LT1028. The LT1028 has a much=20 lower noise characteristic and seems to produce more gain in my preamp=20 design as I needed to throttle back the soundcard gain a fair amount to=20 avoid overloading it... BTW - for Canadian types looking for a cheap solar panel. Canadian=20 Tire has the 1.8W battery maintainers on sale for $10. I bought a=20 couple more as my original one works very well even on cloudy days to=20 keep the preamp battery charged (12V 2.7AH). Even with some kind of=20 pulse circuit in it it doesn't create QRM on VLF or LF. Strange but true= . 73 Scott VE7TIL On 5/21/2011 12:54 PM, Halld=C3=B3r wrote: > Hi all, > > Looks like that the new eruption in Iceland is showing up on my > VLF-grabber.
