I've now undone one of the improvements and am beginning to get a trace on your frequency in a 1.4 mHz bandwidth (last weekend I used 424uHz). The long term average, which will further narrow the effective bandwidth, is showing about 6db S/N. The trace shows a break in your carrier - are you sending QRSS? 73 Chris G3WCD On 26/03/2011 09:19, Chris Osborn wrote: > Thanks for reports so far. > > Transmissions started at 06.00Z on 8.976 661 6 kHz using my OCXO as > reference. > Unfortunately wind conditions at present prevent balloon or kite > supported aerials. > I have 0.2A into my 40m inverted 'L' - height 10m. > > I shall keep the TX running for several hours. > > 73 Chris G3XIZ > > > > --- On *Sat, 26/3/11, mal hamilton //* wrote: > > > From: mal hamilton > Subject: Re: LF: VLF - G3XIZ - Weekend transmissions > To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org > Date: Saturday, 26 March, 2011, 8:51 > > Chris es Co > Nil visible in Scarborough > mal/g3kev > > ----- Original Message ----- > *From:* qrss@talktalk.net > *To:* rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org > > *Sent:* Saturday, March 26, 2011 8:41 AM > *Subject:* Re: LF: VLF - G3XIZ - Weekend transmissions > > OK now grabbing at 6000, 424uHz, signal currently 10dB above > noise peaks. > > 73 Eddie G3ZJO > > On 26/03/2011 08:00, qrss@talktalk.net > wrote: >> Murphy's Law struck here overnight, a power outage closed >> down my computer for me and lost all but my last grab of Uwe >> timed at 05:20UTC. >> >> Now with everything re started we are awaiting the >> waterfalls. Thanks for reports so far.

Transmissions started at 06.00Z on 8.976 661 6 kHz using my OCXO as reference.
Unfortunately wind conditions at present prevent balloon or kite supported aerials.
I have 0.2A into my 40m inverted 'L'  - height 10m.

I shall keep the TX running for several hours.

Now with everything re started we are awaiting the waterfalls. Chris is 6dB above noise peaks in 424uHz, Grabber is showing my 600 split window at the moment with Chris' signal just visible.
