Open to ideas how to simplify this and keep the number of relays to a minimum. OK about knife switches, but the convenience of not having to gout in the rain snow and ice is very appealing. Ideally separate aerials for LF and HF would be best, but for now, and harmony at home, sharing this one is my favoured approach. Over to the clever folk and thanks for the replies..... ;) > The Vacuum relays that used to be plentiful at rallies may be good > enough.   They were designed for high power auto ATUs and cpuld > certainly withstand many kV.   The currents in such ATUs, at teh kW > level wold be many amps so they may work. > If you can still get them, they were a cylinder, typically 12 - > 17mm diameter, about 40 - 50mm long with connection lugs on the side > extending over the length of the body > Andy  G4JNT -- Best regards, Chris 2E0ILY mailto:chris@chriswilson.tv
