That was my first thought to check the colour, unfortunately the colour 
itself did not degrade. It was the blue tape, and the blue tape does not 
lose the colour as easily as for instance the red one sold in Poland

I don't hear nor see nor smell the corona and - believe me - I have my 
eyes open for such anomalies. Anyway, I have the new coil ready to put 
on the roof. I will try to shield the TX as well.

The open question is whether high voltage wire itself may cause UV 
radiation, even when the voltage is too low for more spectacular coronal 
effects to become noticeable.
