To make things easier, use the new "QSO mode" in the latest WOLF GUI version. Set the "Period" to 30 minute intervals. You may even configure the WOLF GUI to let it answers a CQ-call automagically (using the "RX / TX Messages" tab to tell the PC what you are hoping to receive, and to define what to send after successfull reception ). More info about that new function is in the WOLF GUI manual now. For a 2-way TA attempt, let me suggest the same principle as used on VHF EME and HSCW meteor scatter : > The western-most station calls the FIRST transmitted period . Here: Western (US) station transmits from XX:00:00 to XX:29:59, eastern (EU) station sends XX:30:00 to XX:59:59. Note: As long as the TX-message field is empty, WOLF will receive in both periods. So you may let WOLF run overnight, and if it decodes a CQ-call (or other predefined message text), it may start to transmit in "your" next TX-period. In the recent version it doesn't hurt if your local clock is not accurate, since losing a couple of seconds in each period won't hurt. For perfect sync, you may use Dimension 4 to synchronize the clock via internet (thanks for the point Peter). You can control your RX/TX switch from the PC, using the RTS-pin of the serial port (RTS=Request To Send, sic..). I will be monitoring the band later, but there is heavy QRN at the moment - so I would be glad to copy anything at all. Have a nice weekend, 73 , Wolf DL4YHF .
