Dear Dennis, LF,

thanks for the info!

Being curious, I observed the frequency las= t night=20 and noticed the mode change at 1:00. This was in fact coincident with=20 the onset of the broadband "Luxembourg" noise on my LF grabber.=20 A spectrum taken of the 177 kHz demo= dulated=20 audio confirmed the 41.67 Hz bands in the AM component of the multicarr= ier=20 DRM signal, which are then impressed symmetrically around the DCF39 carrier=20= by=20 the nonlinear ionospheric effect.

This shows that a wide spread use of h= igh=20 power DRM modulated transmitters could have a very significant negative impa= ct=20 on the LF noise background.

Kind regards,
Markus, DF6NM

177= kHz=20 DRM-Mode from 2:00 - 5:00 local time, which means of course 1:00-4:00 UT a= t=20 "wintertime" .
