For the next two overnight periods, VA7LF will be attempting to complete a low-frequency QSO with ZM2E in New Zealand. Operation will take place on the 2200m band, on 137 kilohertz. As part of our low-frequency experiment, we are actively seeking signal reports as well as two-way crossband contacts from as many amateurs as possible. Since VA7LF will be using a large vertical antenna located near the ocean and operating at the maximum permitted effective radiated power, our signals will hopefully be audible within several hundred miles or further, from South Pender Island. In order to work VA7LF on crossband cw, you will need to listen for our cw signals on 137.780 kilohertz. We will listen for any replies to our CQ on 3536 kilohertz and 7077 kilohertz cw mode. VA7LF will begin calling CQ at 2000 hours PDST (0300 UTC) tonight and tomorrow night and will continue until 2230 hours PDST (0530 UTC). Following each CQ, VA7LF will listen for cw replies for approximately two minutes on both HF frequencies. In addition, we will be conducting a similar test during daylight hours, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 1400 hours through 1600 hours PDST. To repeat, VA7LF will transmit on 137.780 kilohertz cw in the 2200m band starting at 2000 hours tonight and tomorrow night and continue until 2230 hours PDST. The daylight test will run tomorrow only, from 1400 hours through 1600 hours PDST. VA7LF will listen for replies on 3536 kilohertz and 7077 kilohertz HF cw. All interested amateurs in western Canada and the Pacific north-west, or farther, are encouraged to participate in this unique event. No virus found in this incoming message.
