Content preview: Hi All, CC) Joe, I was trying to separate the COM problem under Windows 7 (64 bit) and found as follows: (1)First transmit sequence was done without error. Audio sound could be generated only just after reloading of WSJTX. (2)Second transmit sequence went into Error "Cannot open COM4". And Auto-off. but sometimes sound is continuously generated even auto-off condition. This looks like there is a clear problem after ending of first transmitting. I hope this will be help for finding the problem. 73 7L1RLL Rick Content analysis details: (-0.6 points, 5.0 required) pts rule name description ---- ---------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -0.6 RP_MATCHES_RCVD Envelope sender domain matches handover relay domain X-Scan-Signature: b14bcaca65d4b584f77d02a84d381cb4 Subject: RE: [rsgb_lf_group] Re: LF: JT9: A New Digital Mode for MF and LF Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on post.thorcom.com X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.3 required=5.0 tests=FROM_HAS_MIXED_NUMS autolearn=no version=2.63 X-SA-Exim-Scanned: Yes Sender: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org X-Listname: rsgb_lf_group X-SA-Exim-Rcpt-To: rs_out_1@blacksheep.org X-SA-Exim-Scanned: No; SAEximRunCond expanded to false x-aol-global-disposition: G x-aol-sid: 3039ac1d4083508d255d6b13 X-AOL-IP: 195.171.43.25 X-AOL-SPF: domain : blacksheep.org SPF : none Hi All, CC) Joe, I was trying to separate the COM problem under Windows 7 (64 bit) and found as follows: (1)First transmit sequence was done without error. A.The status of others applications. WSJT707r2031 works well. WSJT9_r2585 crashs immediately after displaying DOS prompt. WSJT-X 01r2695 causes device open error even if the device was recognized by W7. B.Operating system Windows 7 Home Pentinium (64 bit),SP1 C.Hardware (1)Intel Pentinum B960, 2.20 GHz, 8GB of RAM .(2)COM4: FTDI USB Serial Converter using Microsoft a standard device driver. D.Error displayed "Cannot open COM4" I assume that Python coding might not be appropriate under Windows 7 (64 bit). The Core of WSJT-X seems well. Regards, 7L1RLL Rick Joe, first a big thanks to you for your great work for the ham community. The PTT seems to function nice with the latest update. la5vna Steinar Den 28.10.2012 02:50, skrev Joe: > Many thanks for all the early feedback on WSJT-X, both on- and off-list. > > A number of users have reported that PTT is not being properly released when as transmission is finished. I have not yet found a computer that exhibits this problem... and needless to say, it did not arise for any of us who made the first on-the-air tests. For this reason, running this bug down has not been easy. > > If you have experienced this problem, please try replacing the > wsjtx.exe that you got with the download with one I have posted at > http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.exe > > Depending on the nature of the problem, this one might issue an error message when it fails to turn off the PTT successfully. This early program version may not properly re-initialize all parameters when you change between JT9 submodes. To be sure, it's probably best to restart the program after changing modes.
