Realy my mistake. Problem is that the serial port on my notebook is connected to the mobil phone for GPRS connection to the Internet (DX-cluster). Never mind, must do it for serial port for the next trip. Hello Rich, sorry to hear that you couldn't be active in QRSS due to problems with Win2000 and the parallel port. But it is a known problem. It is because - in contradiction to the serial port - cannot be on "pin level" accessed via the windows API (at least I don't know how ... if someone knows all info is welcome) so I had to access some memory locations direct. It works under any windows version that is not "NT-like", so up to Win98 and not for Win20000, XP etc ... But the serial port should work under any Win version. I (and probably many other programmers) dream of the sweet days of DOS when a PC was an "open box" and almost any port (and function such as the hardware timer) could be easily accessed. But then came Mr. G. and decided that everything would be better if he made things more complicated ... 73, Rik ON7YD At 10:11 10/03/2003 +0100, you wrote: >Hi LF-ers... > >Again a nice trip to my second QTH.
