Scott,

first thing to find out is wether the interference comes from the 
mains or from the power supply. Switched PSU's can be horror.
Can you use another power supply, if possible a good old fashioned linear one?
If the interference stays my next suggestion would be to run the TX 
from the battery and only connect the mains protective earth wire 
(here in Europe it's the green/yellow one) to the RX ground.
