The TS-850 readout resolution is 10Hz. However the tuning appears
'smooth' between the digits. When I set the receiver for slow CW the
receiver is set to 00137.00 upper sideband so that the Spectran
frequency display reading is meaningful. From experience I have found
that the receiver setting should just be at the point where 00136.99
changes over to 00137.00.
1Hz resolution would be nice.

On the '850 there is a control called SLOPE TUNE which controls the
passband of the IF using two controls - very useful.
