Hello Neil, Paul, all,

sorry for the delayed reply, but I have been very busy otherwise the pas= t weeks.

But now I have a test version of SlowJT9 (not published yet) that allows=  UDP broadcasting.

But how to proceed?

The initial question (raised by Chris, 2E0ILY) was to be alerted when ce= rtain messages are decoded, even when you are not in the shack.

The best way to do that (in my opinion) would be a smartphone app that &= quot;buzzes" and displays the decoded message whenever somthing i= nteresting is decoded, so you can have a look and decide wether you want to=  rush into the shack.

I have however no experience at all in creating such apps (if possi= ble platform independent, so it will work on Android, Windows and IOS).

As a test I did write a small Java app (class) that just dumps what= ever is broadcasted by SlowJT9 and it seems to work fine over a local netwo= rk (127.0.0.1).

Is there anyone who has experience in this field and is willing to help?= Either by pointing me into the right direction or (even better) by creatin= g such an app.

UDP would be very useful if it is possible to implement, as then we co= uld use any alerting method with a simple piece of code as I do for WSJT-X

Hello Rik, all...

The alert feature would be useful to me.

Ideal alert level to me would be new station *or* DX station (based
on distance). But if I have to pick on, then new station.

Alert via a pin on a serial port seems best, as long as it has the
possibility to work with some of the better USB to serial
converters. I have three sound cards, it's still not enough, they
are all busy. :)
