Sorry for this being a bit off-topic.. but may be related to bat listening.

Does anyone here use the new Soundblaster Extigy audio device (for USB port), and has successfully convinced it to read "true" 96000 samples per second ?

The windoze driver seems to accept a sampling rate of 96kHz, but the spectrum above 24kHz is very weak. Signals above 24kHz produce weak aliasing effects, and signals above 26 completely disappear. I suspect, though the spec says "ADC with 96kHz sampling rate", this is only an internal value of the DSP, but not for practical applications. The windoze driver just seems to duplicate the samples, like it does for any 'old' soundcard. Sh**  !

Hope to return to LF soon; at the moment it's a waste of time trying to make 'real communication' here, no matter which mode...

Regards,
 Wolf.
