I did try my regular Mini-Whip for receiving on the "dreamers band" but th=
e
signal level rolloff was already pretty severe at 9kHz. I finally settled=
 for
my inverted-L (15m V, 35m H) straight into the coax and a simple BC-band
lowpass before the soundcard to kill the 9kHz IMD products that I had at=
 first.

What exactly went into this optimisation, just larger coupling capacitors=
 and
larger chokes for feeding/extracting the DC or is there something else inv=
olved
as well?
