Regarding aerials, I understand that there is no substitute for full size resonant hardware but due to my small garden I have to make the best of the space & keep on the right side of XYL & neighbours. So the vertical for Tx/Rx on 136 & 500 KHz tuned at the base & the mini-whip for all other VLF to MF Rx options. Also being in the middle of a dense housing estate the noise level does rise & fall sometimes to dramatically high levels & then to dramatically quiet levels but generally mid-way. Of course at the moment there is lots of noise generation with the large amount of Xmas lighting displays including my own !! May I take this opportunity to wish you & all who contribute & read the LF mail A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS All My Best Wishes 73 Gary - G4WGT - IO83qp ----- Original Message ----- From: "mal" To: Sent: Monday, December 24, 2007 3:35 PM Subject: Re: LF: WSJT JT2 again tonight > Gary. > The FT 847 is good on 500 khz with a good antenna.
