Hi Jim well I thought it might be Polyurethanne ....that has C-N groupls in
it (cyano groups I think they are called) so that may be why there is the
cautios safety notice. I think the "varnish" used on earlier "enamelled
wire" was shellac, which is usually a very deep brown, much found on ex WWII
transformer......but I am showing my age again :-)).
