LA5VNA Steinar -------------- " Had this issue after joining my machine to my domain and migrating my = local account to my domain account. Uninstalled/re-install dropbox and recieved the same "Can't access registry" error, followed by = link to a guild on clearing the Read-only attribute for %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Protect\CREDHIST. This was unsuccessful. I ended up finding that the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dropbox key and = sub-keys could not be deleted. To delete them, I used psexec.exe from PSTools to launch a command prompt under the SYSTEM = account: psexec -s -i \\127.0.0.1 regedit >From the SYSTEM account regedit, I located the Dropbox key and deleted = it (it will be under HKEY_Users\one of the long number SID keys; HCKU is relative to the currently logged in user). If you have any = trouble deleting it, you may have to explicitly grant the SYSTEM account full-control over it and subkeys; just right-click on it = and go to 'Permissions'. Alternatively, I suppose that you could also re-create your local user = profile to fix this. Also too, your security software could be blocking access to that key; disable anything security related and = see whether that key is deletable." -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org = [mailto:owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org] P=E5 vegne av Roger Lapthorn Sendt: 31. januar 2012 22:43 Til: rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org Emne: LF: Dropbox (again) Well, it appears I am not alone in having recent problems with Dropbox, = used for my occasional VLF grabber, according to posts on the Dropbox forum. I have tried EVERYTHING suggested by experts here and on the Dropbox = forum to overcome the "unable to access vital registry information" box appearing when trying to load it. Versions from 0. = 7.110 through to 1.3.9 have been tried, unsuccessfully, and I have cleared registries, deleted cache files, even deleted my Windows = log-on password for a time (apparently this fixed it for someone) and deleted and reinstalled the Dropbox software, in various = revisions, more times than I can recall in the past few days.=20 Now I have given up unless someone can help with a fix that is certain = to work. As I am not a PC or software expert this has really stumped me. It is a = pity as Dropbox was so useful. So, no more occasional VLF grabber from here until I find the fix or an alternative that is less = problematic. 73s Roger G3XBM --=20 http://qss2.blogspot.com/ http://g3xbm-qrp.blogspot.com/ http://www.g3xbm.co.uk https://sites.google.com/site/sub9khz/
