We used them in the field toolkit for installs at our radio company. I did try to buy a cheapy at a a rally and found it wouldn't hold gas( you get what you pay for :-(( ). But the ones I have had from RS have been fine and are still in use now some 15 years later. I think they normally equate to about a 60W iron. If you chose carfully you can get a hot air jet (good for shrink sleeving, and even removing the odd SMD !!) and other tools as well.
