Indeed, when you have key clicks, you are not only interfering with other users of the spectrum, but some of your valuable transmitted energy will be ignored by the intended receiver, effectively reducing your signal strength. With filtering appropriate for the chosen speed, only a tiny portion of the energy should be outside the receiver's bandwidth. --Stewart
