Opera 6 (www.opera.com) has similar problems in displaying JPG images in 256 colours (but OK at the higher colour settings). It was reported as a problem in the Beta version, but is even worse in the full release version! It seems there are problems interfacing displays at 256 colour, and some software writers are stopping to bother. Windows defaults to 256 on installation, although as pointed out with modern display boards there is no resource overhead in setting to high colour modes. Opera 6 as a browser is excellent. Advertised as 'the fastest browser earth', you only realise it is when you go back to IE which is decidely pedestrian!! Well worth having a play with. 73s Dave G3YMC dsergeant@iee.org dsergeant@btinternet.com http://www.dsergeant.btinternet.co.uk
