Hi all,

Many thanks for the great response you give on our 250 Meters longwire
experiment we did in the past weekend.
All your reports are very helpfull and we hope after some improveents to
come back on the air on friday evening 9 feb.

Jay to answer your question,
For this experiment we used 1.2 MM. thick aluminium welding wire. (with 5%
magnesium)
It is reasonable strong, cheap and very light. Perfect to use for this kind
of temporaly experiments.
It bridges easily without any support pole 230 Meters, hanging between a 20
Meters high airial tower and ended at a tree on 4 Meters above the ground.
With the vertical part makes it a total of 250 Meters.
The inpendance at the loading coil without a transformer or a tap is less
than 50 Ohm.
We work on it to get a bigger space than the 2.5 Meters between the vertcal
wire and the tower.

Regards Frank.
Experimental station PE1RRF.

Ps. I hope that this mail comes true, this is almost the same mail that I
send on sunday, it is lost somewhere.
