Hi Dave

I have a mk2G and once you've done the diode tx mod it goes to tx mode 0 to
30mhz, however RF out is minimal much below 250khz, as you get above 400khz
it rapidly spools up to 25w or so max. My 735 is a bit drifty but fine for
WSPR, though the frequency over-reads by about 20hz or so. The 706mk2g is
spot on however. Not sure about the mk2 or the mk1 and what they can do.

Cheers

Jim

Jim

I have an old IC735 which I have modified to give a good output from the
transverter socket down to 136 (I removed a HPF) but the thing drifts
horribly, no good for anything more than QRSS3. A 706 would be better. Which
versions can be made to go into TX below 1.6MHz? I don't think a MkIIG can
but can a MkII?

Dave.

Dear All,

Find an old Ic735 or better still a 706mk2g and open it up. Rx is a bit
dull but a datong vlf adaptor will do the trick too and you have a capable
137/500 transcieve kit
