I am sticking to the vertical that worked so well last year to the USA and Canada for transmitting but will use both the loop and the vertical for best reception and am arranging a space diversity system for optimum signal. My loop is positioned for optimum results from the East/West. I have some high trees and masts at this QTH and am also hoping to increase the loop size to 180 metre perimiter. The bottom element will be at least 10 feet above ground. Recently I have been using the W & G SPM -12 level meter as a receiver with the 25 hz bandwidth plus a DSP audio filter and it is better than any convential receiver. It is so sensitive with my loop and vertical that I have to throttle it well back. I do not think there is any possibility of missing transatlantic signals given even minimal propogation. Good luck and hope to hear/see some signals soon from across the deep blue. 73 de Mal/G3KEV > > Regards, > Bill A > > > > > > _____________________________________________________________________ > This message has been checked for all known viruses by UUNET delivered > through the MessageLabs Virus Control Centre.
