Hi Dick, yes that's what I have done, ( he does read English well....blush
blush) as well as strongly advising him to either access the net or 'steal'
some time from a friend so he can look at what is available on a number of
admirably set up web pages. I think this kind of source material will help
to keep the enthusiasm alive (Keep it up fellas!) when perhaps there are no
local enthusiasts to discuss your problems with over a convivial drinkat the
local pub.
I will pass on via Packet the comments about long wires, tuning and earth
resistance that have been aired recently.
Fascinating measurements Dick, I must go back and read those again. Though I
really wonder what use standards are when the noise is S5.....I suppose
these were formulated for receive stations listening to big commercial
signals like DCF39, or for quieter HF bands.
